SHAMS Afghanistan

Project SHAMS has grown to be one of our biggest projects to date. What started as an idea in 2008 for one of our members has now developed into a massive project with three sub-projects, managed by a team of over 7 people.
The projects are being carried out in a relatively safe village in the North of Afghanistan called Taghai Khoja in the province of Sar e-Pol. The village has approximately 2,000 inhabitants and consists of mainly farmers.

Besides the lack of proper educational facilities, there is also little economic activity that has lead to little development in this region of Afghanistan. This led to us sub-dividing SHAMS into 3 parts: SHAMS Education, SHAMS Energy and SHAMS Corporation. These are three separate projects but they have a common goal: To improve the education in Taghai Khoja and the surrounding villages.

A part of the profits of SHAMS energy and SHAMS Corporation will go to SHAMS Education. You can find some more information on each project below:

Mission Statement: The mission of Shams is making a positive difference in the daily lives of the inhabitants of Takhai-Khoja, a small village in Northern Afghanistan. This is primarily done through improved initiatives in education, offering a basis for sustainable economic opportunities and assisting them in achieving the highest potential for better future prospects.
