SHAMS Energy

There are no central power stations that supply electricity to this little village. Few people can afford to buy a diesel generator to generate the necessary power, so Yama Saraj, project leader of SHAMS project helped to build a simple hydroelectric complex to generate renewable energy for this village. Now this hydro-power station generates affordable electricity and enough energy for 300 families.

Future plans SHAMS Energy:

Because of this success story, we decided to build another hydroelectric station in the nearby village Guzar. By building this hydroelectric station, we can supply energy to approximately 300 families.

  • With this new development now the children can make use of light in the nighttime to study and the farmers can work longer hours if necessary.
  • The community can now use more modern media devices, so they are more exposed to international developments in the outside world. Furthermore, mobile phones are readily available, now there is a steady flow of electricity to recharge the batteries.
  • They no longer need to rely on oil lanterns or burning wood for illumination and can use a more sustainable form of energy.
